Magazine Quiz: Fake or Real?

By Daniel Rigney
As a lifelong magazine and newspaper lover (thank you, Weekly Reader and Junior/Senior Scholastic),  I’m always on the lookout for a fresh read.  Some periodicals have unusual titles that sound made up. But in fact, aren’t all periodical titles made up by someone, somewhere, sometime?
Here for your amusement  is my personal selection of periodical titles bearing odd names, whether real or imagined. Can you tell which are real and which are fake?
Give yourself 10 points for each title whose ontological status you identify correctly.  A perfect score of  120 wins you a free imaginary magazine of your choice, subject to availability. Scroll down for answers.
Gardens and Guns
Cigar Aficionado
Journal of Irreproducible Results
Locomotive Engineers Journal
The Farmer’s Wife
Gun Dog
Intellectual Digest
Everybody’s Digest
Sexology
Modern Priscilla
Crawdaddy
Open Salon

Okay, time to score yourself. Please scroll down for correct answers.

A: All periodical titles named above exist (or have existed) in real life, as documented here, here and here.
How did you do?
